Increased Efficiency and Profits Through Lean Thinking

“Lean” is coming to the Eastern Shore.

The world is a merry-go-round and you cannot get off. Customers are becoming more demanding, markets are becoming more customized, and product life-cycles are getting shorter.  These are just a few of the reasons why Lean could be important to you. As the demands on our processes increase, they evolve and adapt accordingly, which often results in processes that end up inefficient and wasteful. Lean is about challenging the way things are done and opening our eyes to that waste and inefficiency. The environment in which an organization operates will continue to change; Lean can help organizations meet the challenge.

The Maryland World Class Consortia and Maryland Dept. of Commerce are hosting “Introduction to Lean Thinking” at Wye Mills on August 28 and Salisbury on August 29.  These four-hour morning workshops provide an introduction to Lean Thinking through an in-depth overview of lean concepts and tools – methods any organization can use to:

  • engage employees
  • retain and grow jobs
  • make work more rewarding, easy, and hassle-free
  • provide better, faster, more cost-effective value to customers
  • increase competitive strength

The workshops are being offered at two Eastern Shore locations; Chesapeake College in Wye Mills, MD on Monday, August 28 and the Tri-County Multi-Purpose Building in Salisbury, MD on Tuesday, August 29.  Each workshop goes from 8:00am to noon.  The workshop fee is $225 per person and include breakfast.
